Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered into a search form is sent to the third-party provider that powers the result. Hayward Residents Directory does not keep its own copy of those search entries. If you send a message, the contact mailbox receives the details needed to read and answer it.
Ordinary Server Information
Hosting systems may record an IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. Those logs are reviewed in aggregate for site health and page use. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics and, when present, advertising measurement.
How the Data Is Used
The limited information supports operation, fault repair, traffic counts, and page improvement. Visitor lists are not sold, and individual user profiles are not built from the reference's own records.
Outside Portals and Links
Pages link to Alameda County and California portals, Hayward departments, libraries, archives, and sponsored search tools. The destination's privacy policy controls anything submitted there. A third-party provider, rather than Hayward Residents Directory, supplies the sponsored results.
Who Receives Limited Data
Hosting and support providers process ordinary server logs. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the automatic information described above. Disclosure occurs when valid legal process requires it and not as a routine sale of a visitor list.
Security and Retention
The connection uses encryption, and logs are retained only for the purposes described above. There are no visitor accounts, passwords, or personal profiles on this site to expose through an account breach.
Children and Minors
The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. Personal information from someone under 18 is not knowingly collected; if a minor has sent information, use the Contact page so it can be removed.
Your California Privacy Choices
California's Consumer Privacy Act, Civil Code §§1798.100 et seq., may give covered consumers rights to know, access, correct, delete, opt out of sale or sharing, limit sensitive-information use, and avoid discriminatory treatment. Because this reference keeps little, a request normally means checking the contact mailbox and relevant server logs, then removing what can be found. Use the Contact page to ask. Public records held by California, Alameda County, or the City of Hayward are outside this reference's control.
The California Public Records Act, Government Code §§7920.000-7931.000, governs access requests to public custodians, not deletion from a private directory reference. Send a correction or removal request for an official record to the office that maintains it.
Policy Changes
